The Iphone 14 is failed to satisfy its customers. The new iPhones 14 Pro from Apple are now being shipped to customers all over the world, but the initial sales figures are mixed for different models.
This is due to the fact that customers seem to favour the Pro models over the standard iPhone 14 models, which don't seem to perform as well.
And in order to meet the current demand for this particular model, Apple reportedly asked Foxconn to increase the production of the iPhone 14 Pro.
In order to prepare them for the production of the iPhone 14 Pro, Foxconn has disabled some iPhone 14 production lines.
The change in production is not necessarily unexpected. Apple requested Foxconn to produce more Pro models because there was such a high demand for this particular configuration, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed earlier this month.
In a tweet from earlier this month, Ming-Chi Kuo stated that "due to strong demand for the iPhone 14 Pro models, my latest survey indicates that Apple has asked Hon Hai to switch the production lines of the iPhone 14 to the iPhone 14 Pro models, which will help improve Apple's product mix/iPhone ASP in 4Q22."
The shipment forecast for iPhone 14 Pro models in 4Q22 has been increased by about 10% based on the production line conversion rate. The analyst went on to say that only a small number of component suppliers' orders have changed as a result of Hon Hai's production line conversion (such as Samsung Display). I anticipate that most suppliers will soon receive requests from Apple to increase their orders for iPhone 14 Pro models.
Apple has obviously kept quiet about these production changes, but the shift makes perfect sense given that the company is placing such a large bet on the Pro models, both now and in the future.
