ISLAMABAD Today (Thursday), Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will go on a two-day trip to Uzbekistan to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization's annual meeting of the Council of Heads of State (CHS) (SCO).
On the invitation of Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who will preside over the conference in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, the Prime Minister will take part in the SCO-CHS.
The summit would be attended by the leaders of SCO members and observer states, as well as the heads of SCO organisations and other distinguished visitors.
The SCO leaders will discuss significant global and regional challenges, such as climate change, food security, energy security, and sustainable supply chains, at the next gathering.
Additionally, they would provide their consent to documents and agreements that would outline the future course of SCO member nations' collaboration.
The Prime Minister would meet with other participating leaders in private discussions on the margins of the Council of Heads of State gathering in addition to attending the summit.
Pakistan has been actively pursuing the SCO's main goals through its involvement in different SCO processes ever since it became a full member in 2017.
