Xiaomi Developer Attempts to Copy the Dynamic Island of the iPhone 14 Pro

By incorporating the hole-punch cutout into an interactive and dynamic part of the display, a developer has set out to replicate Apple's Dynamic Island experience from the iPhone 14 Pro on Xiaomi's premium handsets.

The newly released theme, Grumpy UI, was announced on Twitter and has a hole-punch cutout at the top left of the display that displays the music that is presently playing. The theme's developer claims that Xiaomi is presently considering it for approval. An earlier attempt by a developer to convert Dynamic Island to Xiaomi handsets was reportedly refused.

The TrueDepth camera array is integrated into the iOS experience by Dynamic Island, a new location at the top of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. At the top of the display, the iPhone 14 Pro's Dynamic Island displays pertinent alerts, notifications, and information such as Now Playing, Live Activities, AirPods alerts, and more.

Online reviews of Dynamic Island have been excellent, with some calling it "Apple's best design in years." The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max also include an always-on display, a 48MP Main camera, greater performance, and other features in addition to Dynamic Island.

Pre-orders for the iPhone 14 series, which consists of the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max, opened last Friday. On Friday, September 16, all models—aside from the iPhone 14 Plus—will start shipping to customers. On October 7th, the iPhone 14 Plus will be released.
